COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Last updated: 14 October 2025
At Somewhere Tonight, we create quiet, intentional spaces for conversation where strangers become something more familiar.
To protect that energy, we ask everyone to read and follow these guidelines. They exist so that every table feels safe, curious and open.
We use a mix of human moderation and light automation to help keep our community safe. We can’t see everything, but we care deeply.
If something feels off, tell us. We listen.
1. WHO CAN JOIN
18+ only. Bring valid ID if asked.
Real people only. No fake names, no impersonation, no aliases.
Photos. Use a clear, genuine photo of yourself without filters, text or AI portraits.
One account per person. Keep it honest.
2. HOW TO BEHAVE (AT EVENTS AND ONLINE)
These are small spaces, and respect makes them work.
Kindness first. Speak with care, listen well, and include everyone.
No hate or harassment. Discrimination, bullying, intimidation or cruelty of any kind means immediate removal.
No sexual or violent content. That includes inappropriate comments, touching or imagery before, during or after an event.
No hate speech or dehumanising language. Our tables are diverse by design.
No scams, spam or promotion. Somewhere Tonight is not a marketplace or networking pitch.
No weapons, illegal drugs or controlled substances.
No exploitation, extremism or misinformation.
No filming or photography of others without consent. Capture the atmosphere, not the people, unless they say yes.
3. DURING EVENTS
Be on time. Doors open at 7:45pm and we begin at 8:00pm.
No-shows. Two unexplained absences may lead to suspension.
No plus ones. Invitations are personal and curated for each table.
Follow venue rules. Respect the space, staff and neighbours.
If you feel unsafe, quietly tell a host and we will help.
4. ONLINE AND MESSAGES
Messages and community spaces are extensions of our dinners.
Do not send unwanted or explicit messages.
Do not use the platform for solicitation, promotion or dating outside agreed boundaries.
Do not share screenshots or personal details from conversations without consent.
5. REPORTING
If something happens at an event or online, report it to hello@somewheretonight.com.
We will handle it confidentially and fairly.
You can also appeal a moderation decision through the same address.
6. ENFORCEMENT
Breaking these guidelines may lead to
a quiet warning,
temporary suspension, or
permanent removal.
Serious incidents such as threats, harassment, violence or illegal activity may be referred to authorities.
We reserve the right to remove any person or account that puts the safety or integrity of the community at risk.
7. OUR PROMISE
We continuously review reports and experiences to make Somewhere Tonight safer and kinder, both at the table and beyond it.
Thank you for helping us keep it that way.
